History

of Keaukaha Volleyball Club

Reflection of Time:

In order for our organization to exists in the present, we need to honor all of our participants of the past, and prepare our youth for our future.

Keaukaha Rap Center, the start of the next generation of players.  The place where everything began for youths.  A place where youths could go who had trouble, and needed to "rap" or "talk" with someone.  A place to play, to learn, and most of all to have fun.

The original Keaukaha Surferettes, and the begining of things to come.  The young ladies, who are products of their mothers, aunties, and grandparents.  "Off spring," from the earlier team called "Leialoha."  Under the direction of Mr. Rowe, and support by Ann & Sammy Leialoha.

1st Pacific Rim Junior Nationals Team, was developed, and implemented in Keaukaha.  The first time that our Big Island was represented in an international volleyball tournament.  If look at the faces, the majority of the members of this team was born, and raised in Keaukaha, and they all played volleyball for Mr. Rowe.

The 1st Hilo Nationals Volleyball Team, was made up of players who developed their skills in Keaukaha, and under direction of Mr. Rowe.  75 % of the team members were product of Keaukaha.  They did a great job in the Nationals.
